Find support across many zip codes

We believe that teletherapy opens doors for people to connect with the support they need regardless of their zip code. Our clients can reach us directly from their farmhouse in rural Texas, their city sky rise in busy downtown New York, or their cozy apartment in San Francisco.

Teletherapy Gives the Gift of Time

Teletherapy creates time for our active families and busy professionals! Save that commute time for a walk to the park, carry the iPad with you to grandma’s after dance class on Tuesdays, or keep up with regular sessions while flying out of the country for international business travel. We can flow with you.

Why Teletherapy?

Technology has become an integral part of our lives that we use for work, learning and leisure. Children today view technology as a ‘natural’ part of their world. At CloudSpeech, we believe that tech and people can come together in a balanced and healthy way, and we support the use of teletherapy as a more efficient service delivery model that opens up opportunities for increased therapy frequency and flexible scheduling. Research, as well as our own experience, is showing us that therapeutic services can often be as effective (and sometimes even more effective) in the virtual clinic setting. We also recognize that teletherapy may not be the right fit for all clients, which is why we offer a complimentary consultation to get to know you and make appropriate recommendations before getting started.

Quick answers to common questions.

When should parents be concerned about their child’s speech and language development?

Parents sometimes worry that their child’s speech and language is not developing at the same rate of other children their age.  It is important to remember that children are unique and develop at their own rate. However, all children will pass through certain developmental milestones that typically happen around certain ages.  We encourage parents to explore the facts about typical speech, language and hearing development at ASHA (American Speech Language and Hearing Association) to learn more about when it is a good idea to reach out to a speech-language pathologist.

Remember, you can submit your questions on our Q&A page. We will respond to you personally and help with the decision-making process to determine if speech therapy is recommended at this time.

What does a teletherapy session look like compared to traditional therapy setting?

Teletherapy is very similar to traditional therapy, in fact, it technically is face-to-face interaction. A therapist can work with a client seated at a desk computer, or on the floor of their living room from a tablet or laptop device. At CloudSpeech we make the same effort to engage our clients with creative therapy materials and activities across the screen that we did across the table before. Our clients are often surprised with the dynamic experience we are able to provide through teletherapy.

Does cloudspeech include families and caregivers in the therapy process?

Yes. CloudSpeech encourages family and caregiver involvement in speech therapy. Our goal is to work towards YOUR goals, and we want to know what your greatest hopes are concerning your child’s communication as we develop a therapy plan. Parent coaching may be offered for younger children. We offer home practice recommendations so families can continue to help their child grow in between direct therapy sessions.

How long will therapy take?

Many people ask this question, but there is no one answer. Progress rates in speech therapy depend on many variables, including the severity of the diagnosis, the participation of client in therapy, the support of family and caregivers outside of direct therapy sessions, and the uniqueness of the individual being treated. There is no one-size-fits-all model. We work to move our clients towards independence.

Does cloudspeech provide home practice materials?

Yes. In fact, we love doing this. Your therapist will provide individualized home practice recommendations and materials that are designed just for you. We use lots of videos to provide models and options for easy repetition, as well as activity ideas, printables, or anything that inspires, supports and motivates each unique client.

Do you accept insurance or HSA/FSA accounts to pay for services?

At this time, CloudSpeech accepts UnitedHealthCare, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Anthem Blue Cross in California, as well as Blue Cross Blue Shield in Texas. Please contact us to see if you are covered, and to check our waitlist status for each individual plan. We also provide superbills that may be submitted by the client to their private insurance provider for reimbursement. Yes, we accept HSA or FSA as forms of payment for services.

Individualized Client Home Programs

We provide individual home programs that are easy to access and ideally fun for children and families to practice in between direct sessions. We have found that parents benefit from having clear video examples to refer to, and children may practice multiple times for specific skills when pictures, videos and unique content that motivates them is provided.
